11/3/23 Zach's parents were in town and we wanted to try out a new restaurant with them. We made a reservation at La Ronda for 4 people. We parked down right in front of the restaurant. When we got there, we were seated right away and it smelled so good when we walked in. Since we don't normally get Peruvian food, we asked the waiter for any suggestions and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. Here's what we got: - Chicken empanada (to share) - Beef empanada (to share) - Calamari (to share) - Picante de mariscos (mine) Zach's parents shared the beef empanada and Zach and I shared the chicken one. I'm not normally a fan of raisins, but the chicken empanada had them and they actually tasted really good! I didn't get pictures or the names of what Zach and his parents got, but I remember that they were all very pleased with their meals. I was also very satisfied with my dish. The Picante de mariscos has a lot of seafood and it wasn't as spicy as advertised which was perfectly fine with me. I like that the rice was set to the side so it wouldn't get soggy from the soup. There was a nice variety of seafood in the dish and seasoned perfectly. I am definitely looking forward to coming back.

Nice, cozy restaurant. Friendly and quick customer service. The food was very tasty. My favorite was the papa rellena and the lomo saltado. The seasoning was just on point. The ceviche was not as amazing but I enjoyed it. If you crave Peruvian food this is a good spot.

Came here on a Thursday around 6:30pm with a party of 2 and were seated immediately. This place is a gem! Deifnitely one of my go-tos when I crave Peruvian food. I have gotten takeout from here multiple times and the food has never disappointed. This is my first time dining in at the restaurant itself. The space is clean and gets lots of natural light. There is limited parking in front, it's generally a low traffic area so parking is usually available. There is also a parking lot across the intersection in the Whole Foods plaza where you can park and take a short walk here. We shared La Ronda Marina between the two of us, for its current price at 70.95 I feel like it's a pretty good deal for the content. The main draws for me are the Leche de Tigre and traditional ceviche. I think a side of chips would go really well with this order. The portions are very generous, we both left feeling super full. It was the perfect wind-down for me after a long day at work to just sit and sip a cocktail and enjoy some delicious food while spending time with my husband. I'd definitely recommend this spot for a casual date night dinner or a catch up sesh with friends. Good food and good vibes all around.

First time trying this Peruvian restaurant, and it didn't disappoint us. The Paella was very delicious ! I highly recommend it ! It's definitely a neighbohood gem. The portion of the food is pretty big too ! The Paella could easily feed 2 people !! 今天跟老公還有乾弟去試了這家秘魯餐館. 東西蠻好吃的 ! 建議大家可以去試看看哦 !

We came around 8 pm on a friday night and it was fairly empty, with maybe two or three other tables seated. We were seated immediately. We ordered pretty quickly and the food came out relatively fast. Free bread: This was pretty good for free bread, even though it seemed like basic white bread. The outside was a bit toasted but the inside was still soft to eat. They also provide butter and this green sauce/spread that was realllllly good. Loma saltado: 4/5 beef was cooked pretty well, i liked the onions and the sauce. I expected the fries to be a bit crispier but they were soggy, so i didn't care for them that much. I thought the dish had good cohesion and i enjoyed it but i would rather try something else next time. Paella: 4.5/5 This was amazing! Good flavor throughout the rice and they pack it with a ton of seafood. The squid was perfectly cooked and there was clam and mussels as well. The one complaint was that the mussels and clams ended up being too overcooked, but i'm not sure if there's a way to avoid this with how you make paella. We would definitely get it again! Servers were also nice and attentive.

I came to San Mateo for an Early workout. I looked on Yelp And La Ronda Restaurant caught my eye immediately. I love Peruvian cuisine. In my opinion one of the most balance flavors cuisine in Latin America. The place is super cozy and well decorated. The staff is nice and always smiling. I ordered an amazing main course "La Ronda Plate". It's a three dishes in one, Fish Ceviche, fried calamari and a shrimp rice. I asked if they can change the shrimp rice for a Seafood Chaufa rice and they happily agree. I also ordered a Peruvian Beer "Cusqueña". You won't be disappointed if you try this dish on your first visit. The ceviche was really good and fresh. The leche de Tigre was amazing. The rice had that distinctive burnt-smokey flavor that only a wok can add, it was delicious and full of seafood. I love Chaufa cuisine (Peruvian Chinese fusion). I was expecting a basic fried calamari and I was impressed with the breading. Incredibly light and full of flavor. They served warm bread with some butter and an amazing green salsa at the beginning. I can tell that since I arrived to the Bay Area this is the first place that I feel cost benefit was great. Really good food for what you pay. Two adults can definitely share this plate. I will definitely come back to try the lomo saltado and causa limeña.

We went there on a Friday night. I have always seen this restaurant when I go shopping at whole foods and decided to check it out. Definitely not disappointed, mucho bueno The sitting environment is very fancy. After sitting I checked the reviews, which was also very good. It was surprising to have both apparent and non-apparent metrics on par We started with fried yuka or what they call (Yuka Frita). It was a bit blah, not really tasty. I got Saltado De Pollo, and my wife got Milanesa Carne. The Saltado was very good. Even though my toddler was making a mess, I enjoyed it big time. My wife did not like the beef (i.e Carne) much, it was rough according to her. The sauce was tasty however. I will for sure go there again if I have a chance.

We had wanted to come here to try the lomo/pollo saltado to see how it compares to Estampas in Redwood City. Instead, this dish called La Ronda Marina caught our eye. It's essentially a sampler of a bunch of things: leche de Tigre, ceviche, arroz de mariscos, fried red snapper, calamari, clams and mussels. We loved everything as all the seafood was so fresh. However if we were to do it again we'd probably opt for less deep fried items. The waiters were courteous and happily explained our question regarding the difference between the leche de Tigre and ceviche. We would definitely come back and try their dishes saltados.

Aji de gallina is not on the menu but asked for it the first time I came on a Saturday night and they said they had ran out. Came back again on a Thursday night and luckily someone had placed an order for it an hour earlier and there was some left! I don't think I've had a bad aji de gallina. I just love the flavor and creaminess with the potatoes. It's comfort food. Paella de marina did not skimp on the seafood. Loved this dish. It was flavorful and everything was cooked perfectly. This is the first time I've had saltado de pollo. I usually get the lomo saltado but came with a friend that doesn't eat beef. It tasted like an asian dish with fries and it worked! Chicken was tender and sauce was slightly sweet. I should note, I added the green sauce that comes with the bread to practically all the dishes. I love it. For dessert, we ordered the picarones. This was my first time having it. Alone, it was crispy, oily, and not sweet at all. Add the syrup to sweeten to your liking. It's the shape of a donut but don't expect the texture of a donut. Think of it as a fried sweet potato in donut form. It was good but I wasn't wow'd. We didn't have room for more dessert but I think it would go great with ice cream. I may need to try that with the lucuma ice cream next time. They dimmed the light this time so my eyes didn't dry out. Service was good. We didn't finish a bottle wine we had brought in and they were kind enough to tightly wrap it in plastic for safe keeping. They didn't pack our boxes this time but it's fine.
